Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Dr Hussein Eissa held a meeting on Tuesday to review the latest preparations for hosting the third edition of the World Entrepreneurship Festival 2026 in November.
Eissa said Egypt’s hosting of the international event reflects its growing role as a leading regional hub for entrepreneurship, innovation and investment, and underscores the government’s strong focus on supporting the sector.
He noted that startups have become key drivers of economic growth, job creation, productivity and competitiveness. Their ability to innovate, scale up and access regional and international markets makes them an essential part of the future of the economy, he added.
Eissa also highlighted the work of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, which is providing intensive and continuous support for the sector.
These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to building an integrated ecosystem that supports economic development, promotes business and investment environment and strengthens Egypt’s startups, in line with a strategic vision for an innovation- and knowledge-based economy.
The meeting also reviewed opportunities available to entrepreneurs of various nationalities, startups and investors, as well as a range of initiatives aimed at supporting innovation, strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem and promoting investment.
The World Entrepreneurship Festival is one of the largest international gatherings dedicated to entrepreneurship and investment. Its third edition, to be held in Egypt from November 6 to 8, is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants from over 70 countries, with more than 100 exhibitors and over 60 international speakers from government, business and investment circles.
