Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli began an extensive tour of Gharbyia Governorate on Tuesday to inspect and inaugurate a number of service and development projects, as part of his ongoing field visits to Egypt’s governorates.
The tour aims to review progress on ongoing projects under the presidential “Hayah Karima” (Decent Life) initiative to develop rural villages and ensure that completed projects enter service to improve residents’ quality of life.
The tour includes visits to healthcare facilities and family medicine centres in targeted villages, drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as the inauguration of a regional branch of the Consumer Protection Agency and several parks and other service projects.
Madbouli said the visit, which comes one day after his tour of development projects in Matrouh, aims to review the latest progress of Hayah Karima projects.
He said the initiative, launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, seeks to improve services for more than 60 million people in targeted villages. The government is working to complete the initiative’s second phase and put completed projects into operation as quickly as possible.
Madbouli described Gharbyia as a major industrial and agricultural governorate, stressing the government’s commitment to addressing challenges facing ongoing projects and providing the necessary support to complete them on schedule.
