CAIRO  – Egypt’s Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem said Tuesday Egypt is among the countries that attaches great importance and spares no effort to support people with special needs.

In statements during her participation in fifth Forum of “Awladna” for Arts targeting disabled persons, the minister said the gathering has become one of the most important artistic events that attests to the role of the persons with disabilities in the various cultural activities organized by her ministry.
The minister thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his continued efforts and directives in support of the people with special needs.
For her part, Minister of Social Solidarity Nivine el-Kabbag lauded – in a recorded speech – the role of Awladna in empowering people with special needs, along with her ministry’s contribution to the event out of its strong belief in the importance of the inclusion of persons with special needs in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
For her part, President and Founder of the forum Soheir Abdel Qader thanked President Sisi for his support to the event that is meant to develop and enrich the talent of the gifted through a raft of cultural and artistic activities.
This year’s theme is ‘Together We Restore Our Joy’ as participants with special needs meet with African, Chinese and European artistic teams.
“Awladna” is held under the patronage of President Sisi, from Nov.16 through 23.
The program of the opening ceremony included a number of artistic performances. Russia is the guest of honor at this year’s gathering.
Awladna/Our Children is held with the participation of 36 countries and under the auspices of the ministries of tourism and antiquities, culture, social solidarity, youth and sports, emigration and Egyptian expatriates affairs and planning and economic development. (MENA)
