The Commander of the Egyptian Navy, Vice Admiral Mahmoud Adel Fawzy, received Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and his accompanying delegation on Saturday during an official visit to the Naval Forces Command in Alexandria.
The meeting forms part of the Armed Forces’ commitment to strengthening military cooperation with brotherly and friendly nations.
Discussions covered a range of issues of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing naval co-operation, expanding the exchange of expertise, and supporting closer collaboration between the two navies.
During the talks, Vice Admiral Fawzy underlined the importance of continued coordination to strengthen the operational capabilities of both navies and advance their shared strategic interests through deeper military co-operation.
For his part, Admiral Ashraf praised the longstanding partnership between the Egyptian and Pakistani naval forces, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further expanding bilateral defence co-operation.
As part of the visit, the two commanders toured the Alexandria Shipyard Company, where the Pakistani delegation was briefed on the shipyard’s advanced capabilities and expertise in constructing naval vessels.
The programme also included visits to several recently commissioned Egyptian naval units to review their operational capabilities and advanced weapons systems, alongside a visit to the Naval Academy to observe its modern education and training programmes for future naval officers
