Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Jumblatt, has reiterated the importance of boosting industrial integration and expanding cooperation in military manufacturing. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to developing strategic partnerships that support the future of defense industries and enhance national industrial capabilities.

The remarks were made during a meeting on Saturday with the Pakistani Ambassador to Cairo, Aamir Shoukett, at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral co-operation across several sectors, with a particular focus on defense industries.

Jumblatt reviewed the activities and production capabilities of the Ministry of Military Production and its subsidiaries, highlighting that their advanced military products are manufactured to the highest international quality standards. He also noted that the ministry utilizes its surplus manufacturing capacity to produce civilian goods, leveraging sophisticated technological infrastructure, modern production lines, and highly qualified engineering and technical personnel.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation through expertise exchange, technology transfer, and joint industrial partnerships between Egyptian military production companies and Pakistani defense firms.

For his part, Ambassador Shoukett praised the advanced manufacturing and technological capabilities of Egypt’s military production companies. He commended the constructive cooperation between the two sides and expressed his desire to further strengthen a bilateral partnership rooted in the deep ties between both nations. Shoukett noted that Egyptian-Pakistani cooperation continues to make steady progress, particularly in the military and security sectors.

The Pakistani Ambassador also invited Minister Jumblatt to participate in the IDEAS 2026 defense exhibition, scheduled for this November, calling it a premier international platform for exploring defence industry partnerships.
