Such support comes via transferring successful Egyptian expertise in eradicating the virus and sending experts and specialists of the Egyptian cadres to train the Guinean side on means to diagnose and apply Egyptian medical protocols and send medicines necessary for treatment in Guinea, said the minister.

The minister’s statements came during a meeting with Guinean Minister of Health and Social Welfare Mitoha Ayekaba and his accompanying delegation to discuss means of joint cooperation to support the health sector in Guinea at the premises in the New Administrative Capital.

In a statement, Spokesman of the Health Minister Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the minister asserted readiness to present all means of support to Guinea to guarantee upgrading the health sector and achieve health security to its citizens within the framework of implementing the directives of the political leadership to support the African countries.

The meeting tackled means to support Equatorial Guinea in the field of medicine supply and improving medical cadres in Guinea and supporting them in encountering hepatitis C, the spokesman said.

The minister asserted the readiness to receive the medical cadres from Guinea to train them at Egyptian hospitals in the different medical specializations needed in their country, the spokesman said.

The meeting tackled supporting the Egyptian medical convoys sent to Guinea to conduct surgeries.

Meanwhile, Ayekaba thanked the minister for quick response to the demands of Guinea in the health sector and taking several executive steps in reality, asserting the importance of Egypt’s support to Guinea to improve the health sector, provide medicine, transfer expertise and improve the skills of medical cadres.
