Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Ahmed Rostom, said on Saturday that Egypt is nearing the launch of a “Unified Licensing Window” to streamline procedures for investors.
He stressed that work is underway to activate the system soon, as part of the Economic Reform Programme’s objectives.
Speaking on Saturday during a high-level session titled “Partnership with Egypt: Shared Opportunities for African Business” at the first edition of the “El Alamein-Africa 2026” Business Forum, Rostom said the unified window aims to reduce paperwork and enable market mechanisms.
The Minister explained that the Economic Reform Programme for the next three years will focus primarily on improving the “quality of growth” and adopting an approach based on effective implementation to enhance government performance and build capacities.
Rostom stressed that the upcoming agenda will be based on comprehensive structural reforms to raise productivity and competitiveness.
He noted that this has been accompanied by the adoption of active market policies, with a focus on exchange-rate flexibility as a key element of economic transformation.
