Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Soliman Gomblat, conducted an inspection tour of Abu Qir Engineering Industries Company (Factory 10) on Friday, in the presence of Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia.
The visit was part of ongoing field inspections to monitor operations at military production companies and review the latest developments in the company’s production activities.
It also aimed to follow up on measures being taken to maximise the use of its available capabilities, in support of the state’s efforts to deepen local manufacturing and strengthen national industrial capacity.
Chairman of Abu Qir Engineering Industries Company, Mohamed Saeed El-Kharashy, briefed the minister on the company’s main activities and manufacturing capabilities, including its production lines, CNC machines, lathes, milling machines and advanced laboratories.
The tour included a review of the company’s financial position, including revenues and expenditures, as well as plans to develop its military and civilian products.
The minister and the Alexandria governor also toured a showroom documenting the more than seven-decade history of Abu Qir Engineering Industries Company.
Gomblat said the Ministry of Military Production attaches great importance to developing the technological, manufacturing and research capabilities of its affiliated companies. He stressed that these efforts aim to boost the competitiveness of Egyptian industry, turn innovations into products that meet market needs and keep pace with evolving development requirements.
For his part, Alexandria Governor Attia expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Ministry of Military Production and its affiliated companies in supporting national industry.
He praised the capabilities of Abu Qir Engineering Industries Company and its qualified workforce, stressing the importance of continued co-operation and co-ordination between the two sides to maximise the use of available industrial capabilities and support development efforts in Alexandria Governorate.
