Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, received Mauritania’s Ambassador to Egypt, El Houssein Sidi Abdoullah Dieh, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of strengthening bilateral co-operation across various healthcare sectors and consolidating longstanding fraternal ties between the two countries.
The minister welcomed the Mauritanian ambassador, affirming that Egypt and Mauritania share a rich history of co-operation and joint achievements. He stressed Egypt’s commitment to deepening partnership frameworks, exchanging expertise and providing technical support to the Mauritanian side in the healthcare sector.
They reviewed progress achieved in ongoing co-operation files and explored opportunities to boost collaboration in training, capacity building, transfer of Egyptian expertise and the provision of technical consultations across various healthcare sectors.
The discussions also addressed continued co-operation in the pharmaceutical sector, with Minister Abdel Ghaffar directing the organisation of a visit for the Mauritanian ambassador and delegation to the Arab Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances (ACDIMA) to review Egypt’s pharmaceutical manufacturing system and production capabilities.
The two sides discussed means to enhance co-operation in preventive healthcare and benefiting from Egypt’s experience in this field.
For his part, the Mauritanian ambassador expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s warm reception and the continued support provided to his country, praising the significant progress achieved by Egypt’s healthcare sector and its leading role in supporting Arab and African nations.
