CAIRO – Egyptian Ambassador to Belgium Badr Abdel Aati had a meeting with Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Véronique Dockendorf to discuss means of boosting bilateral co-operation in the economic, political and cultural fields.
The Foreign Ministry said on its Facebook page that the meeting falls within the Egyptian ambassador’s visit to Luxemboug to present his credentials as non-resident Ambassador of Egypt to the Duchy of Luxemburg.
The two sides discussed ongoing preparations for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC, set for Sharm El Sheikh in November.
The meeting focused on steps taken by Egypt on the path of the comprehensive development and modernization process in all domains, particularly in the health, education, infrastructure and tourism sectors.
They also discussed Egypt’s success in achieving the highest economic growth rates in the region despite the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Egypt has made notable successes in combating illegal immigration and hosting millions of refugees on its lands, along with combating terrorism and extremist ideology.
The meeting also touched on the measures taken by Egypt to promote human rights, citing the launch of the National Strategy for Human Rights Strategy in September 2021.
