The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade announced that Minister Mohamed Farid has approved the establishment of the Egypt Sub‑Fund for Industrial Investment as one of the sovereign wealth fund’s sub‑funds, with paid‑in capital of LE 500 million and authorised capital of LE 10 billions.
The fund is designed to support export‑oriented industrial companies, aiming to deepen local manufacturing, increase domestic content, and boost foreign currency inflows. It will invest in firms across diverse sectors based on feasibility studies, enhancing production capacity, competitiveness, and export potential, while encouraging partnerships with international industrial companies.
Priority sectors include automotive components, electronics, electrical appliances, food and beverages, textiles, ready‑made garments, and pharmaceuticals. The investment policy focuses on partnerships with the private sector and investment institutions, either directly in companies or indirectly through collaboration with investment banks to establish other industrial funds.
