Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Sherif Farouk, and Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, inaugurated on Tuesday the 14th edition of FI Africa 2026 at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in Cairo. It is the region’s leading exhibition for food ingredients and food manufacturing solutions. They also opened ProPak MENA 2026, a premier exhibition specialising in industrial processing and packaging technologies
The exhibitions are being held on June 2-4, 2026 and feature the participation of more than 400 exhibitors representing over 35 countries.
The events coincide with the FoodGuard Summit, organised in co-operation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), with the participation of several international organisations, including the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
In his remarks, Minister Farouk stressed that the Egyptian government places great importance on food security and enhancing the efficiency of supply and distribution chains. The minister stressed that the exhibitions serve as an important platform for knowledge exchange and for showcasing the latest technologies and innovative solutions in food manufacturing, packaging, storage, and transportation.
Farouk noted that the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade continues to implement comprehensive plans to modernise the food commodities circulation system and upgrade storage, transportation, and distribution infrastructure. These efforts aim to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce losses, and contribute to achieving sustainable food security.
Egypt’s hosting of such major international events reflects the confidence of global institutions and companies in the Egyptian market and underscores the country’s position as a regional hub for trade, industry, and logistics services.
Following the inauguration, the ministers of supply and industry toured the exhibition halls and visited the pavilions of participating companies, where they reviewed the latest products, technologies, and solutions in food manufacturing, industrial processing, and packaging.
