Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke by phone with Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al‑Ahmad Al‑Sabah, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, on Monday to review bilateral ties and regional issues.
Both ministers praised the depth of Egypt‑Kuwait relations and agreed to continue strengthening cooperation. They exchanged views on regional tensions, stressing the need to reduce escalation, respect state sovereignty, and safeguard freedom of navigation. They also underlined the importance of reviving the US‑Iran memorandum of understanding as a basis for resuming diplomacy and achieving sustainable security.
The call also addressed the Palestinian issue and the situation in Gaza. The two ministers emphasised completing the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan and moving forward with the second, to stabilise conditions, improve humanitarian relief, and prepare for reconstruction. They reiterated support for a two‑state solution, with an independent Palestinian state on the June 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
