From the heart of Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Merit of the Republic of Italy, launched the Mediterranean Technical and Vocational Education Forum (TechSkills Forum) on 5–6 June.
The event was attended by Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, and Italy’s Minister of Education and Merit, Professor Giuseppe Valditara, alongside education ministers and heads of delegations from 13 countries.
The forum underscored a shared commitment among Mediterranean nations to deepen regional co-operation in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and strengthen the alignment between education systems and evolving labour market demands.
The two-day gathering concluded with the adoption of the Cairo Declaration on International Co-operation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the Mediterranean Region, issued under the theme “Skills for the Future.”
The declaration reflects the collective determination of participating countries to expand bilateral and multilateral co-operation frameworks in the field of technical and vocational education and training, while promoting knowledge exchange, skills development, and innovative approaches to preparing future generations for a rapidly changing labour market.
