CAIRO – Egytian Public Sector Minister Hisham Tawfik has met with a delegation from the Iraqi stock market under chairman of the Iraqi Securities Authority Hassan Hammoud Hassani.

The meeting, attended by Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Mohamed Farid, tackled ways of booting bilateral cooperation.

The minister, meanwhile, voiced keenness on promoting cooperation with the Iraqi side and providing all the necessary support to Iraq in order to develop the capabilities and competencies of the Iraqi market.

The minister also shed light on several aspects of cooperation with the Iraqi side, especially in construction and housing spheres.

For his part, the chairman of the Iraqi securities authority affirmed the close ties binding Egypt and Iraq, voicing his country’s keenness on benefiting from the Egyptian expertise.

He also invited the Egyptian companies to do business in the Iraqi market, which provides several facilities to foreign investors.

The Iraqi official also extended an invitation to the public sector minister to visit Iraq along with officials from several housing and construction companies in order to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Farid, on his part, affirmed that the EGX welcomes various forms of cooperation with the Iraqi side, especially in terms of training and enhancing the necessary skills and capabilities.
