Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss efforts related to reaching a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shenawy said President Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full support for the negotiation track, underscoring Cairo’s diplomatic initiatives to facilitate talks and pave the way toward a comprehensive agreement that would end escalation and restore stability. He highlighted his recent participation in a joint call with U.S. President Donald Trump and several Arab leaders, stressing Egypt’s consistent position in favor of peaceful settlements and its rejection of any aggression against Gulf states or threats to their territorial integrity.

President Pezeshkian reviewed the progress of ongoing negotiations, expressing appreciation for Egypt’s and other regional actors’ efforts to bridge differences between Iran and the United States. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with Arab nations, particularly Gulf Cooperation Council states. President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s stance rooted in international law, respect for sovereignty, and peaceful dispute resolution.

The two leaders also exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings, extending wishes of peace, prosperity, and stability to the Arab and Islamic nations.
