The head of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, directed the heads of affiliated companies to intensify precautionary measures to confront the newly-identified Omicron variant at all national airports.
This comes in light of the measures taken by the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis, headed by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, to confront the new Covid-19 variant at Egyptian airports and the mechanisms for dealing with those arriving in Egypt by air from African countries in which the new strain appeared.
Mahrous also stressed that, in parallel with the intensification of precautionary measures at Egyptian airports, instructions were issued to take more preventive measures at workplaces to confront the virus.
The Egyptian airports that have obtained the health accreditation seal for safe travel within the ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme since the beginning of the pandemic amounted to 11 international airports after the reviews that were made to ensure compliance with the health procedures approved by local and international authorities.
