Egyptian state-owned Tuya Technology and Intel have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand co-operation in artificial intelligence (AI), technology training and local manufacturing.
The agreement was witnessed by Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat and covers specialised AI training, capacity building, knowledge transfer and technical support. It also includes exploring the local assembly of Edge AI solutions and personal computers.
Gomblat said the agreement supports Egypt’s efforts to build an integrated AI ecosystem, strengthen local technological capabilities and expand domestic manufacturing.
Intel officials welcomed the partnership, highlighting opportunities for co-operation in training, knowledge transfer and the development of AI applications. The two sides also discussed ways to build local expertise and expand Egypt’s technological capabilities.
The MoU follows talks held in July between the two sides on potential co-operation in AI, industrial software, data centres, networking technologies and smart cameras.
