Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Soliman Gombalat, has said the Ministry is implementing a strategy to modernise its affiliated companies through digital transformation, wider use of industrial software, AI applications and upgraded manufacturing systems to keep pace with developments in smart manufacturing.
The minister’s remarks were made during a meeting with a delegation from Intel on Saturday to discuss co-operation on AI, industrial software and digital transformation.
He has said software and AI have become central to modern industrial operations and supply chains, stressing the ministry’s commitment to investing in digital infrastructure and workforce training alongside adopting advanced technologies.
The minister said that cooperation with Intel would help transfer and localise advanced technologies, strengthen the competitiveness of Egyptian industry and create added value for the national economy.
The two sides explored potential collaboration on embedded AI for production lines, integrated industrial software, servers for data centres supporting digital transformation projects, and advanced networking technologies.
They also discussed AI solutions for drones, smart cameras and AI Box systems to support local manufacturing and technology transfer.
Intel representatives said they aim to establish a long-term strategic partnership with the ministry, citing its industrial and technological capabilities as a strong foundation for joint projects in AI, industrial software, digital infrastructure and technology transfer.
