The Arab Federation for Voluntary Activities (AFVA) has celebrated the Arab Volunteer Day, which falls on September 15 of ever year, under the slogan “Nations Develop by Volunteering” in Egypt with the participation of 16 Arab countries.
The federation, over the past 20 years, has realized several achievements at all levels and seeks further success and voluntary efforts to attain its goals, said AFVA President Youssef Ali Al Kathim.
He underlined the significance of paying attention to volunteer work by all nations, communities, and local, Arab, and international volunteer organizations in order to champion noble morals and values alongside harnessing human potential toward development and growth.
Kathim said that the federation celebrates annually the Arab Volunteer Day as an expression of its belief that volunteer work represents a fundamental pillar in fostering human and moral values in a way that enables individuals to make a tangible contribution to society.
The Arab delegations that took part in the celebration included representatives from Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Yemen.
