Egypt received Saturday additional 300,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses as a gift from China in the light of its close relations with Egypt, Assistant Minister of Health Khaled Megahid said.
He added that the new shipment also came within the framework of cooperation between Cairo and Beijing in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new shipment will be examined at the Egyptian Drug Authority laboratories before it goes for the vaccination of the rest of medical teams especially at the nation’s isolation hospitals, the elderly and people suffering from chronic diseases.
However, those who want to receive the vaccine have to register at the website launched earlier by the Ministry of Health.
Megahid said around 40 health centres and clinics offer the vaccines for targeted segments around the nation.
