Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa met on Thursday with Chief of Defence Staff of Gambia Lieutenant General Mamat Cham and his accompanying delegation during their current visit to Egypt.
The meeting addressed the latest regional and international developments and their impact on security and stability across the African continent. It also discussed ways to strengthen military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.
Lieutenant General Khalifa affirmed the depth of relations between the Egyptian Armed Forces and their counterparts in friendly nations, praising the growing prospects for bilateral cooperation in a manner that serves shared interests.
For his part, Cham commended Egypt’s prominent role in reinforcing regional security and stability.
He expressed his aspiration for further joint cooperation during the coming period.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior military commanders from both countries.
