Cairo- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed on monday ongoing preparations for hosting the international conference on Libya in Paris this month.

The review came in a phone call President Sisi received from the French leader monday, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

President Sisi reviewed Egypt’s firm position on the Libyan issue and Egypt’s existing efforts to advance all tracks of settling the issue militarily, politically and economically in various international and regional forums.

The two presidents agreed to support the existing political track in order to hold the desired electoral elections on its scheduled date at the end of next month and the need for all foreign forces and mercenaries to leave Libyan territory and to undermine illegal foreign interventions that contribute to fueling the crisis.

They also exchanged visions on the developments in Sudan and agreed on the importance of dealing with the current challenges in Sudan in a way that achieves stability and security for the Sudanese people, and preserves the democratic path of the current political process.
