Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, met on Friday with French officials to discuss expanding joint investments and co‑operation in Egypt’s agricultural sector. He underlined Cairo’s commitment to removing obstacles facing investors and creating a favourable environment for projects focused on innovation and digital transformation.
During talks with the French agricultural counsellor and the head of the economic section at the French Embassy in Cairo, Farouk highlighted opportunities for collaboration in modern agricultural technologies, irrigation, agro‑processing and supply chains.
The French side expressed strong interest in boosting agricultural trade with Egypt, particularly in fertiliser production and high‑yield cattle breeds for meat and dairy.
Both sides agreed to continue co-ordination through joint technical teams and to explore co‑operation in potato seed production research and agricultural co‑operatives.
