Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence General Ashraf Salem Zaher met on Monday with Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces General Fabien Mandon and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting Egypt.
The meeting focused on strengthening military co-operation between the armed forces of the two countries and supporting joint efforts to promote security and stability in the region.
The discussions also covered a range of issues of mutual interest and explored ways to expand co-operation across various military fields, reflecting the longstanding partnership and close ties between Egypt and France.
Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa also held talks with Mandon and his accompanying delegation.
The French delegation was accorded an official reception at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence, where the national anthems of Egypt and France were played.
Khalifa underscored the depth of the partnership and bilateral co-operation between the Egyptian and French armed forces, highlighting the importance of maintaining close co-ordination and exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest.
Mandon, for his part, expressed appreciation for the strong and longstanding ties between Egypt and France, reaffirming the importance of further developing military co-operation between the two countries.
A number of senior officers from the Egyptian and French armed forces attended the meeting.
