Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad is closely following up the circumstances surrounding the death of an Egyptian national in Dubai.
The ministry confirms that the Egyptian Consulate General Dubai was notified by the Dubai Police of the passing of Diaa Eddin Shalaby Mohamed El-Awady in one of the emirate’s hotel, said Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallf, said in a statement.
The Consulate has since been actively engaged in liaising with the competent authorities in the United Arab Emirates to establish the full details of the incident.
In this respect, Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati, has instructed the Consulate to maintain continuous coordination with Emirati officials, oversee all related procedures, and expedite arrangements for the repatriation of the deceased’s remains to Egypt.
In parallel, the ministry is in direct contact with the family of the deceased and their legal representative.
Ambassador Haddad El-Gohary, Assistant Minister for Consular Affairs, is set to receive the deceased’s wife and family members at the ministry’s headquarters to complete the necessary consular formalities, extend condolences, and reaffirm the ministry’s full commitment to following this case through to its conclusion.
