Egypt’s Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority Chairman Bahaa El-Ghannam and Ismailia Governor Nabil Hasaballah inspected the Egyptian-Italian Applied Technology School in Ismailia on Tuesday to review efforts to modernise technical education and expand practical, technology-based learning.

The visit highlighted co-operation between state institutions, the private sector and international partners to prepare skilled technicians with the practical and technological skills needed to meet labour market demands and support productive sectors.

The officials received a briefing on the Future of Egypt Egyptian-Italian Applied Technology Schools, which combine academic study with hands-on training under a model designed to modernise technical education in line with presidential directives.

The schools offer specialised programmes in irrigation and agricultural technology, livestock and poultry production, plant production, food processing, honeybee and silkworm technology, agricultural engineering, fisheries and aquaculture, and laboratory technology.

The programmes aim to align education with labour market needs and prepare qualified technicians to support agricultural production, manufacturing and development projects.

Abdel Latif said the schools represented an advanced model of technical education, combining academic learning with practical training to meet the needs of productive sectors.

Meanwhile, El-Ghannam said technical and technological education was essential to preparing skilled workers in line with labour market requirements and the needs of development projects.

He added that the schools reflected President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to modernise technical education and prepare a generation capable of managing national projects and ensuring their sustainability.

The network comprises 26 schools across 14 governorates, serving around 2,600 students.

The schools operate in Giza, Menoufia, Beheira, Alexandria, Gharbia, Qalyubia, Sharqia, Dakahlia, Ismailia, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Luxor and Aswan.
