CAIRO– The Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that Egypt was elected as member of the African Peace and Security Council in the 2024-2026 round.

Egypt obtained 44 votes of 46 of the votes of states who have the right to vote.

This great result reflects African states’ confidence in Egypt in this vital file that was successfully tackled by Egypt in the council in various rounds including the last round in 2020-2022, the ministry added.
