Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Egypt’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, met on Saturday with Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita, the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s (DRC) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence and Veterans Affairs, during his official visit to Egypt.
The Congolese minister was received with an official military ceremony at the Ministry of Defence headquarters.
The talks focused on recent regional and international developments, evaluating their impact on security and stability across Africa. The two leaders also explored avenues to strengthen military and security cooperation between their respective nations.
Lieutenant General Zaher reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between Egypt and the DRC, stressing the vital importance of joint efforts to expand collaboration across various military sectors.
For his part, Muadiamvita praised Egypt’s active role in supporting African issues and expressed the DRC’s keen interest in enhancing coordination on matters of mutual concern.
The high-level meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, alongside senior military officials from both countries.
