Egypt’s Ambassador to Ramallah, Ihab Suleiman, met on Thursday with Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein al-Sheikh to discuss the latest developments in the occupied territories and ongoing efforts to restore stability and address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, Ambassador Suleiman reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts to implement the requirements of the US President’s plan, including ensuring the full and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, securing a ceasefire, and enabling the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities in the Strip in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.

Ambassador Suleiman reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering position rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or liquidate the Palestinian cause.

He stressed the importance of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as part of the future Palestinian state.

He also reiterated Egypt’s strong condemnation of Israeli settlement activities and ongoing violations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, underscoring the need for the international community to maintain focus on the daily violations against the Palestinian people and to intensify efforts to uphold international law and protect civilians.

Palestinian Vice President al-Sheikh expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s support for the Palestinian cause and commended Cairo’s sustained diplomatic efforts to achieve calm, facilitate humanitarian relief, and advance initiatives aimed at restoring stability and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
