Egypt strongly condemned what it described as Iranian attacks that violated Jordanian airspace, calling the incident a breach of Jordan’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and endangers civilians.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of any actions that undermine the sovereignty, security or stability of Arab states. It stressed the need to uphold international law and the principles of good-neighborly relations, while calling for an end to practices that could further widen the conflict in the region.
Egypt also reiterated its full solidarity with Jordan and expressed support for all measures taken by the kingdom to safeguard its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
