The Arab Republic of Egypt strongly condemned the heinous attempt to target the holy city of Mecca, describing the act as a grave violation of the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites and an unacceptable threat to the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Egypt stressed that any act directed against Mecca constitutes a serious affront to religious sanctity, running contrary to fundamental Islamic values as well as established international law.
Cairo reaffirmed its categorical rejection of any actions seeking to undermine Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, or territorial integrity. Furthermore, Egypt emphasised that the security and stability of the Kingdom constitute an integral part of Arab national security and are closely linked to Egypt’s own national security.
Reiterating its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Egypt supported all measures undertaken by Saudi authorities to protect their territory, safeguard their citizens, and preserve the security of the holy sites. Finally, Cairo called on the international community to uphold the protection of holy sites and firmly reject all acts that threaten regional security, stability, and peaceful coexistence.
