CAIRO – Planning Minister Rania el-Mashaat and Chinese Ambassador here Liao Liqiang have signed a new economic and technical co-operation agreement, under which a number of development grants should be offered to top priority sectors in Egypt.
The grants will help Egypt implement its 2030 Vision that toes the line of the UN sustainable development goals.
Mashaat told Liao that Cairo is keen on benefiting from Beijing’s development experiment and is looking forward to attracting more Chinese investments.
The meeting took up projects that are currently being implemented in Egypt in co-operation with China, atop of which an Egyptian satellite, Sat 2, and a vocational training centre at the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
Other ventures in the fields of health, education and transport were also tackled.
They also discussed investment in human capital as a key player in Egypt’s development plan.
