Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid witnessed on Wednesday the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Mansour Group and China’s Tianneng Battery Group to explore opportunities for producing lead‑acid and lithium batteries in Egypt.
Farid said lithium batteries and new energy vehicle components are central to Egypt’s strategy to deepen local manufacturing and boost exports. He highlighted Egypt’s competitive advantages, including its strategic location, infrastructure and industrial zones.
Tianneng Vice President Eric Xu outlined the company’s decades of experience in battery technologies and stressed its interest in partnering with Mansour Group to leverage Egypt’s market and regional position.
The two sides agreed to continue co-ordination with government authorities to finalise feasibility studies, select a site and define product lines, paving the way for implementation.
