Egypt and Chad agreed to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors during the 4th session of the Egyptian-Chadian Joint Committee, held on Thursday in the Chadian capital.

The meeting was co-chaired by Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati and his Chadian counterpart Abdallah Saber Fadoul, with the participation of senior ministers from both countries, including the Egyptian ministers of transport, health and higher education, as well as business leaders.

Abdel-Aati conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s greetings to Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby and praised the growing momentum in bilateral relations.

He highlighted progress on projects launched following last year’s committee meeting in Cairo, including the establishment of El Gran Corridor, a joint Egyptian-Chadian company that will develop logistics zones, agricultural projects and meat exports in Chad.

The foreign minister also highlighted Egypt’s medical mission to Chad, which performed more than 500 surgeries and inaugurated a dialysis center in N’Djamena, as well as the completion of the new Alexandria University campus, which will expand educational opportunities for students from Chad and neighboring countries.

Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir reaffirmed Egypt’s support for infrastructure development, particularly the Egypt-Libya-Chad road corridor, describing it as a strategic project to boost regional connectivity and trade.

Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar pledged continued medical support, including additional medical convoys, training for Chadian healthcare workers and expanded pharmaceutical cooperation.

The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in culture, tourism and civil aviation.

The session concluded with the signing of memoranda of understanding covering cooperation in health, culture, tourism and civil aviation, underscoring both countries’ commitment to expanding their strategic partnership.
