Egypt is currently exerting efforts and communicating with both sides to prevent escalations between Israel and Palestine, Ali Atef, a researcher at the Egyptian Centre For Strategic Studies told The Egyptian Gazette.
“Either evacuating Palestinians from Gaza Strip or pushing them towards the Egyptian borders is refused, because this means vacating the Palestine cause completely and forever,” Atef said. “There should be other solutions,” he said.
Atef also added that also if Palestinians are pushed to the Egyptian borders, this will not be safe.
Israeli media said deaths from Saturday’s Hamas attacks had reached 900. Gaza’s health ministry said Israel’s retaliatory strikes had killed at least 770 people and wounded more than 4,000.
