Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Gomblat, reaffirmed on Saturday the ministry’s commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to localise advanced manufacturing technologies by strengthening partnerships with the private sector and attracting investments.

The ministry aims to enhance national industrial capabilities in accordance with the highest international standards.

The minister’s remarks were made during a meeting with Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Egypt, Deyan Katratchev, at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital to discuss expanding bilateral co-operation.

Minister Gamblat highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries and the growing momentum in bilateral co-operation supported by the political leadership of both nations.

He reviewed the manufacturing, technological and technical capabilities of the ministry’s affiliated companies, stressing the importance of developing human resources, localising modern technologies and adopting advanced production systems to achieve sustainable industrial development.

The talks covered ongoing co-operation between military production companies and several Bulgarian firms, citing the fruitful industrial partnerships established in recent years.

For his part, Ambassador Katratchev praised the advanced capabilities and expertise of Egypt’s military production companies, saying they encourage Bulgarian businesses to establish promising industrial partnerships with their Egyptian counterparts.

He described Bulgaria as Egypt’s gateway to Europe, noting that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with Bulgaria 100 years ago.
