CAIRO – Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah el-Dein Mostafa Sunday discussed with Bulgarian Ambassador to Egypt Deyan Katratchev means of strengthening strategic partnership in all fields.

During a meeting, which took place at Military Production Ministry’s headquarters in the government district of the New Capital, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing strategic cooperation in multiple areas for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The meeting tackled preparations for the upcoming fourth edition of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2025), set to take place between December 1-4 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The minister of state for military production said that “EDEX 2025” builds on the success of the previous three editions, through which Egypt delivered a clear message to the world regarding the progress and technological advancement of its defense industries.

The exhibition reflects Egypt’s status as a safe and stable nation capable of hosting major international events with the highest levels of efficiency, Mostafa said.

He added that the exhibition brings together major global companies specializing in land, naval, and air defense systems, enabling an exchange of expertise and providing access to the latest technologies that support the development of Egypt’s defense products and efforts to increase local manufacturing.

For his part, ambassador Katratchev expressed his confidence in Egypt’s ability to once again impress the world through its exceptional organization of “EDEX 2025”, describing the event as an invaluable opportunity for exchanging expertise and exploring the latest global innovations in military manufacturing.

Nine Bulgarian companies will take part in “EDEX 2025”, the ambassador said, adding that these firms operate in a range of advanced military systems.

Katratchev expressed desire that the meeting would play an important role in opening new horizons for investment and cooperation between Egypt’s Military Production companies and their counterparts in Bulgaria.

He praised the notable efforts of the Ministry of Military Production in supporting national and development projects in Egypt, as well as the Egyptian government’s commitment to providing an investment-friendly environment capable of attracting greater foreign investment from leading international companies.
