Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production Salah El-Din Gombalat and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Zukan Helez, discussed in Cairo on Friday prospects for co-operation in defence industries, including joint manufacturing and technology transfer.
The discussions, held during Helez’s visit to several military production facilities, focused on the two countries’ industrial and technological capabilities, opportunities for exchanging expertise and developing human resources in the defense sector.
Gombalat said Egypt is seeking to expand international industrial partnerships, localise advanced technologies, and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities in line with government efforts to support sustainable development and modernize its industrial base.
For his part, Helez praised the capabilities of Egypt’s defence industry and expressed keenness to establish broader industrial partnerships with the ministry, particularly in defence manufacturing.
Helez also invited the Egyptian minister to attend Bosnia and Herzegovina’s first defence industry exhibition, “First Balkan Shield – Industry Exhibition and Summit 2026,” scheduled to take place in Sarajevo in September.
