Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Major General Salah Suleiman Gomblat, convened a meeting on Saturday with the chairmen of the boards of directors of the ministry’s affiliated companies engaged in ammunition production.

The meeting centred on the implementation of supply contracts, production plans and ongoing efforts to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Held at the Ministry of Military Production headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, the meeting reviewed the progress of ammunition supply contracts and production plans, alongside measures to improve operational efficiency.

The minister stressed that developing the ammunition production system is a top priority, urging continued modernisation of production lines, optimal use of specialised human resources, and adherence to the highest standards of quality.

He highlighted the ministry’s focus on deepening local manufacturing and localising modern technologies to reduce reliance on imports.

He also underscored the importance of integration among affiliated companies and effective use of available capabilities to support product development and enhance production efficiency.

Minister Gomblat said developing ammunition production represents a strategic pillar for strengthening local manufacturing and self-sufficiency, supporting the state’s ability to meet its defence needs.

He directed companies to implement established development plans, increase productivity and efficiency, and continuously train and qualify human resources while benefiting from modern technological advancements and artificial intelligence.

He noted that these efforts would enhance the competitiveness of military production companies, support the development of an advanced national industrial base, meet local market needs and facilitate future exports.
