Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir on Tuesday discussed with Belarus Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Terentiev co-operation in different transport spheres, particularly in the domain of localising the manufacturing of electric buses and trucks.

They probed the possibility of co-operation with Egyptian firms specialised in manufacturing of buses to set up new production lines for the Belarus companies in their factories.

They, also, discussed direct co-operation with the Transportation Ministry to establish a joint factory for manufacturing electric buses at Borg Al Arab Industrial Zone in Alexandria governorate, in line with international quality standards.

Transport minister asserted commitment to putting into effect directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi regarding the localisation of bus manufacturing and promoting co-operation with private sector in this domain, in order to develop and modernise state’s passengers transport fleet.

Wazir and Terentiev tackled co-operation in a set of transport projects, including co-operation between the Belarus side and the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport as well as the Holding company for Roads, Bridges and Land Transportation projects in upgrading their workshops and trucks fleet.

Meanwhile, the two sides discussed the willingness of Belarus companies to establish a grain center in one of Egypt ports of East Port said, Dekheila or Gargoub, in order to meet the demand of the domestic market and export for African countries.
