Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Soliman Gombolat, reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding co-operation with Armenia, particularly in the field of defence industries.

This came during a meeting on Tuesday with Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Armen Sargsyan at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The minister welcomed the ambassador and his accompanying delegation, noting that the talks fall within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors, with a particular focus on defence manufacturing.

Gombolat highlighted the advanced technological, manufacturing, and technical capabilities of the ministry’s affiliated companies, noting that they operate under integrated strategies based on mutually reinforcing pillars. Chief among these is the development of human capital through equipping personnel with advanced digital skills and problem-solving capabilities, enabling them to work efficiently alongside modern technologies, including artificial intelligence.

He added that these efforts align with the ministry’s broader strategy to localise cutting-edge manufacturing technologies across its subsidiaries, in co-operation with leading global firms.

In this context, Gombolat reaffirmed that the ministry’s primary mandate remains meeting the Armed Forces’ requirements for various types of ammunition, weapons, equipment, and advanced electronic systems, thereby boosting Egypt’s defence capabilities.

For his part, Ambassador Sargsyan and his delegation expressed their appreciation for the capabilities of Egypt’s military production sector, affirming Armenia’s interest in enhancing co-operation with Egypt, particularly with the ministry’s affiliated companies.

The ambassador also stressed the importance of exchanging visits between experts and technical delegations from both sides to explore available technological and manufacturing capabilities and identify concrete areas for co-operation, paving the way for future strategic partnerships.
