SADAT CITY- Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) Tarek el Houby asserted that Egypt is one of the best countries concerned with food safety at both regional and international levels.
This came during the inauguration of the 2nd stage of Silo Foods Industries in Sadat City on Thursday.
Houby said that establishing an authority specialised in food safety was a pressing demand that put Egypt among the best countries that has bodies and authorities concerned with food safety at the regional and international levels.
The authority was established upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and prepared its first strategy for 2023/2026 which aims at boosting implementation of food monitoring programs through coping up with digital transition of services.
The food industries sector achieves successive leaps for development and growth, he said, adding that the NFSA should have effective engagement in this vital sector.
The NFSA and Silo Foods Industries co-operate within the framework of implementing an integrated, safe and healthy school feeding system, he said.
