Egypt plans to allocate EGP 6 billion for the third cash payment of overdue export dues related to shipments made before July 1, 2024, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said in a press statement released on Tuesday.
Applications from exporters seeking to benefit from the third round of the cash payment initiative will be accepted from August 16 to October 1, with payments scheduled for October 22.
Kouchouk said the government has paid more than EGP 80 billion to exporters over the past six years and aims to clear all outstanding dues within two years.
He added that EGP 48 billion has been allocated in the current budget to accelerate export support payments, while export subsidies reached EGP 28 billion in fiscal year 2025/2026, marking an annual increase of 55%.
The minister said the Finance Ministry is coordinating with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to develop the export system and boost the sector’s competitiveness.
“We are working to provide exporters with liquidity to support the growth and competitiveness of Egyptian goods and services,” Kouchouk said, adding that the government plans to increase export support allocations annually to help Egyptian products enter new markets.
Neveen Mansour, the minister’s adviser for economic institutions, said EGP 12.6 billion in cash payments was disbursed to around 2,500 exporting companies during the previous fiscal year.
The amount represented the first and second installments of overdue export dues paid in cash in 2025/2026, instead of being settled over two fiscal years.
