Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to maintaining close co-operation with all relevant stakeholders to advance environmental investment projects nationwide.
She said that the step aims to boost the position of Egypt’s natural reserves as leading eco-tourism destinations at both regional and international levels.
The remarks were made during a meeting held on Friday with businessman Hossam el-Shaer, Chairman of Sunrise Group, to review the implementation status of a number of proposed environmental investment projects in Sharm El-Sheikh and several natural reserves.
This is part of Egypt’s efforts to promote sustainable investment and support eco-tourism.
The minister reviewed a proposal for the redevelopment of Peace Park in Sharm El-Sheikh, one of the country’s promising environmental investment projects. The initiative focuses on revitalising the green area that represents the legacy of the COP27 Climate Conference, transforming it into a contemporary sanctuary.
