The 19th edition of the EduGate International Higher Education and Training Fair will open on Tuesday under the patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa.
The event will bring together more than 120 universities and educational institutions from 25 countries and will run through July 30.
Hosted at Egypt International Exhibition Center in co-operation with the Association of Arab Universities, the event will also be attended by senior government officials, university presidents, international education experts and representatives of global organisations.
The fair will continue on Aug. 2 at the Hilton Green Plaza in Alexandria, with broad participation from public, private, national and technological universities, as well as branches of foreign universities operating in Egypt.
A key highlight of EduGate 2026 will be the “Towards Universities of the Future” forum, which will examine how artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and biotechnology are reshaping higher education and the future job market.
Ali Shams El-Din, head of the organising committee and former president of Benha University, said the forum aims to produce practical recommendations to modernise academic programmes, foster innovation and better align university graduates’ skills with labour market needs.
The forum will feature three main sessions. The opening session, “From Teaching to Empowerment: University Disciplines for the Age of Intelligent Machines”, will focus on curriculum reform, integrating AI and data analytics into academic programmes, and expanding skills-based education and micro-credentials.
