Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdellatif chaired on Tuesday a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Educational Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund to review ongoing projects and approve a number of support and financing requests.
The Minister stressed that the fund is a key mechanism for supporting the ministry’s priorities, emphasising the importance of directing resources towards projects that address urgent needs in schools and educational facilities and deliver a direct and sustainable impact on the quality of education.
During the meeting, the board approved funding for the costs of general secondary and technical examinations for the 2025/2026 academic year. It also approved support covering 50% of dues owed to teachers recruited from outside the ministry and retired teachers engaged to address shortages in teaching staff.
The board was briefed on approved support for the General Authority for Educational Buildings to provide 100 computers to schools in North Sinai, connect sewage services to Gamal Hamed STEM School in Suez, and upgrade facilities at the Sports City in Arish. Support was also approved for upgrading technical schools earmarked for conversion into Applied Technology Schools.
Additional approvals included connecting electricity services to four schools in the Bulaq El‑Dakrour schools complex in Giza, supplying 50,000 classroom desks for newly constructed classrooms, and providing additional funding for works carried out at the STEM School in New Cairo.
The board also approved the fund’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2026/2027 and endorsed its final accounts for fiscal year 2025/2026.
