Egypt’s economy is steadily regaining investor confidence, supported by strong and balanced performance despite persistent global and regional challenges and economic uncertainties, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said on Thursday.
He referred to recent economic indicators which reflected the resilience of the national economy and the effectiveness of the government’s reform policies aimed at supporting growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, and improving the business environment.
Addressing a meeting with the delegation of Lazard Sovereign Advisory on the sidelines of the Paris Forum, Kouchouk said that the investment climate in Egypt is witnessing continuous improvement, noting that the government remains committed to implementing further measures to facilitate procedures, simplify regulations, and remove obstacles facing investors and businesses.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to introduce additional tax and customs incentive packages designed to encourage investment, enhance competitiveness, and support productive sectors.
Increasing the contribution of the private sector to economic activity remains a key objective of the government’s economic agenda, the minister explained.
The government is working to provide better and more efficient services for investors, improve the investment environment, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector to stimulate economic activity and create more employment opportunities, he said.
In addition, the state carries on with providing financing facilities to support production and expanding industrial activity, alongside economic support programmes designed to boost exports of goods and services and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in international markets, he said.
Kouchouk pointed out that several productive sectors have recorded notable improvements in performance, with the industrial, tourism, communications, and information technology sectors achieving their strongest results in six years.
These indicators, he noted, reflect growing investor confidence and the positive impact of reforms targeting productivity, competitiveness, and economic diversification.
The minister underscored the government’s commitment to maintaining the momentum of reform and supporting private sector-led growth, while strengthening Egypt’s position as an attractive investment destination capable of delivering sustainable economic growth and generating quality employment opportunities.
