CAIRO- Chairman of the Egyptian Atomic Energy Agency (EAEA) Amr El Hag had talks with a Russian delegation of Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP), an enterprise of TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
The talks tackled the implementation of the contracts that were inked between the two sides in 2017.
Under the contracts, Russia will supply another batch of uranium components as well as products made of the aluminum alloy, and aluminum powder for Egypt’s Second Research Reactor (ETRR-2).
Russia will also extend needed nuclear fuel for operating the reactor by 2030.
Hag noted that the EAEA trained Egyptian cadres and various research activities in the fields of peaceful use of atomic energy.
He added that the Russian delegation visited the nuclear fuel plant in Inshas where it stood on the production and testing stages.
