CAIRO – The dollar exchange rate increased Wednesday at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) to LE46 for buying and LE46.10 for selling.
At Banque Misr the dollar price upped to LE45.25 for buying and LE45.35 for selling.
At the Commercial International Bank (CIB), the dollar exchange rate recorded LE46.35 for buying and 46.45 for selling.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) had decided in its special meeting to raise the overnight deposit rate, the overnight lending rate and the rate of the main operation by 600 basis points to 27.25 percent, 28.25 percent and 27.75 percent, respectively.
